Why we like it

The 2021 vintage of this Barbera d'Asti comes from the "La Crena" vineyard, located in the municipality of Agliano Terme, with a density of 4,800 plants per hectare, grown using the Guyot system. The oldest part of this vineyard dates back to 1932 and is planted on silt-clay soil with southern exposure. The vinification involves an alcoholic fermentation of about two weeks in open steel vats, with the use of mechanical fungature, "délestage" and frequent pumping over. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, a post-fermentation maceration with the skins follows, before being transferred to barriques for malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for about 18 months, distributed between barriques, large barrels and steel, helping to give the 2021 vintage wine its complexity and finesse.
