San Leonardo

The Tenuta San Leonardo, nestled in the heart of the Trentino mountains, is a viticultural treasure with roots that trace back over a thousand years. Originally a monastery, for more than three centuries it has been the residence of the Guerrieri Gonzaga family, who have transformed this land into a vineyard of rare beauty and quality. Here, on soils rich in pebbles and sand, extraordinary grapes are grown, giving life to wines of unmistakable character.

Among the estate's vineyards, Carmenère, planted in the mid-19th century, and Cabernet Sauvignon, introduced in 1978 by Marchese Carlo Guerrieri Gonzaga, stand out. These grape varieties are meticulously cultivated to produce wines that embody the essence of this unique territory.

Since 2015, San Leonardo has been certified organic, a milestone that underscores the estate's commitment to preserving biodiversity and managing the land sustainably. The harvest, a crucial moment of the year, is carried out manually with extreme precision to ensure the highest quality of the grapes. Vinification takes place in ancient cement vats, where the wines ferment naturally, preserving the purity of flavors.

The estate’s underground cellar hosts wines during their aging process, where they rest for at least 24 months, developing complex and structured aromas. Each bottle is the result of a meticulously crafted process, reflecting the passion and dedication of the Guerrieri Gonzaga family.

Tenuta San Leonardo is a perfect example of Trentino viticulture, where attention to detail and respect for the land produce wines that are true enological masterpieces.
