The wine presents a bright straw yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage that exudes elegance. The nose reveals fresh and complex aromas, with citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit, white flowers, green apple, and hints of dried fruits like almond and hazelnut. Delicate scents of bread crust and yeasts, typical of the classic method, also emerge. On the palate, it is vibrant and fresh, with well-balanced acidity that gives both equilibrium and liveliness. Why we like it
The Cuvée Pietra Riserva 2020 Extra Brut by Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga is produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown between 400 and 700 meters above sea level on the hills of Pressano and in the Cembra Valley. The vineyards grow on soils of porphyry and volcanic origin, with red marl in the Pressano area and sandy loam soils in the Cembra Valley, all deriving from morainic sediments.
The vinification begins with a fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature of 20°C, followed by a six-month refinement on the lees with frequent bâtonnage. Subsequently, the wine ages for 36 months on the lees, giving complexity and depth to this elegant cuvée.
