Why we like it

Terre di San Leonardo, introduced with the 2005 vintage, was born from the need to enhance the young Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards planted in the early 2000s, offering a wine that expresses the terroir with a fresh and immediate style. The vineyards, located within the ancient walls of the monastery, grow on light and sandy soils for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère, and on clayey soils for the Merlot. The vines, aged between 3 and 25 years, are trained with spurred cordon, Guyot and Trentino pergola, with a yield that varies between 50-90 quintals per hectare. The vinification includes spontaneous fermentation and maceration of 12-15 days in concrete tanks, followed by aging for 12 months, divided between concrete and French oak barriques. The wine rests in the bottle for at least 6 months before being released for sale.
