Ornellaia 2021 embodies the essence of a classic Bolgheri vintage, with sunny and dry periods giving rise to wines that are rich and concentrated, yet expressive and generous. On the nose, typical scents of Mediterranean scrub, aromatic herbs, and cypress berries are complemented by blackcurrant and dark fruit aromas. On the palate, the tannic structure is dense and enveloping, providing precision and finesse. The finish is long, vibrant, and characterized by a refreshing aromatic freshness that imparts lasting elegance.

Ornellaia 2021 pairs beautifully with red meats, game, and aged cheeses. Its complex structure also makes it ideal for rich and flavorful dishes like braised meats and stews, enhancing the flavors with its elegance and depth.

For the 2021 Vendemmia d’Artista project, artist Marinella Senatore interpreted the theme of 'Generosity,' creating a work of art and a series of limited-edition labels that celebrate the distinctive character of the vintage. This special edition pays homage to the 2021 vintage, a classic Bolgheri year that produced wines with great expressiveness and richness. The harvest was carried out by hand, with meticulous selection of the grapes, which were then carefully processed. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel and concrete tanks, followed by a 15-day maceration. Malolactic fermentation occurred mainly in oak barriques, 70% of which were new, imparting depth and complexity to the wine. After 18 months of aging in barriques and an additional 12 months in bottle, the wine is released to the market in its perfect form, ready to express its extraordinary potential.
